Building Maintenance Worker, PART-TIME
The Johnson Public Library is looking for an honest, hardworking and dependable addition to our maintenance team. Under the supervision of the Senior Building Maintenance Worker, you’ll support the JPL staff by completing various tasks in our 119 year old library and throughout the surrounding urban campus. This is a crucial position and the tasks will vary from general maintenance and sanitation, landscaping, furniture assembly and set up, meeting room maintenance and configuration, supply inventory and ordering, building opening/closing, program set ups, seasonal work and decoration, and more. A good sense of humor is a must!
Responsibilities: Moderately strenuous tasks involved in cleaning and maintaining the building, equipment and grounds.
Schedule: 20 hours per week, must be flexible, the current schedule involves a mid-day shift of 12-4, as well as alternate Saturdays and occasional evenings.
Requirements: NJ Driver’s License. Able to lift 60 lbs. Background check.
Preferred Experience: At least one year of full-time satisfactory experience in the maintenance of buildings or the mechanical, electrical, plumbing or construction trades. Basic computer competency. Handyman skills such as light plumbing/electrical preferred. Knowledge of building and safety codes a plus.
