Part-time Technology Assistant

Looking for a tech savvy candidate who is comfortable working in a busy and fast paced technology department. 

15 hrs/wk – Flexibility in scheduling is crucial. Some evenings and weekends required for program set-up.

Job tasks will include: 

  • In-person program/event set-up 
  • Deploy or lend, and log tech for staff use
  • Running routine tech maintenance
  • Participate in various organization & inventory projects
  • Troubleshoot tech issues as assigned by Head of Tech. from in-house Tech Support Form
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong public service orientation; tact, courtesy, and patience in dealing with staff and public.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions with consistent follow-up.
  • Minimum Associates Degree or two years of college preferred
  • Ability to utilize and adapt to changing technologies.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate expertise with:
    • G Suite apps
    • MS Office
    • Windows 7/8/10
  • Candidates must be comfortable working with a wide variety of devices including:
    • Desktop & laptop computers 
    • Chromebooks/Chromebases
    • Apple and Android devices, including phones and tablets
    • Kindles (eReaders & Fire Tablets)
    • Hotspots
    • Smart TVs
    • Printers & Scanners
    • Speakers 
    • Microphone & other A/V equipment

Additional Qualifications:

Experience with EnvisionWare or similar session control software used in libraries.
Expertise with all aspects of the patron use of OverDrive and Hoopla digital collections.
Ability to stand for long periods, bend, crouch, and move objects up to 20lbs.
