Becoming a member at JPL is super easy. All you really need to show us is proof that you live in Hackensack. That’s it! You can bring:

  • Driver’s license or a State ID

If you don’t have a driver’s license or a State ID, you can use 2 of any of the following items:

  • Lease
  • Utility Bill
  • Tax Document
  • Bank Statement
  • An envelope that has a current postmark and date, and which has your name and Hackensack address.

As for children, any child who resides in Hackensack who is in Kindergarten is welcome to sign up for a library card in the children’s room. A parent must be present and show proof of residence for the child to get a card. As soon as a parent or guardian signs for the card, you’re pretty much set!

If you’re under 18 but in eighth grade or higher and attending a Hackensack Public School, you can get a young adult card at the main desk. We’ll only ask to see one (that’s 1) thing and you can use your student ID.

Seriously, can it get any easier?
