The Johnson Public Library seeks a part-time reference librarian to work 12 hours per week.
The desk schedule would be as follows (with a 15 minute break)
Monday: 9 to 1
Wednesday: 9 to 1
Friday: 9 to 1
Additionally: Occasional evenings and Saturdays
Education and experience: MLIS degree (Librarian), or MLIS degree candidate (Library Associate).
Provide reference services to a diverse community of patrons with different levels of literacy and/or technological abilities.
Assist patrons with computer tasks including printing, file attachments, downloads and basic troubleshooting.
Instruct the public on the use of ebooks, downloadable audio, and other technologies.
Work on special projects as assigned by the Department Head and/or Director.
Other duties as required.
Skills and Interests:
Excellent customer service attitude and people skills required.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of print and computerized reference resources.
Salary: $29 per hour for Librarian, $22 per hour for Library Associate
